6.30PM central court CELEBRITY TALK in association with Taisho Chic Ben Hills, author of Princess Masako: Prisoner of the Chrysanthemum Throne Just as the Taisho era pitted the forces of Western modernism and Japanese tradition against each other, so Masako Owada's marriage into the ancient institution of the Japanese royal family triggered a tremendous, and ultimately tragic, clash of cultures.

Ben Hills is one of Australia's best-known investigative journalists and foreign correspondents, a winner of the Walkley Award for journalistic excellence. He has made a particular study of Japan, where he was based for three years in the 1990s, and is the author of two books on that country. The most recent, Princess Masako-Prisoner of the Chrysanthemum Throne, caused an international uproar when the Japanese government denounced it and attempted to have it banned - as a result it became an international best-seller and has been translated into a dozen languages.  www.benhills.com
