Paul McDermott

Paul McDermott has been at the forefront of the Australian entertainment industry since the Doug Anthony All Stars stormed to national and international success in the late 1980's. For more than a decade this immensely popular entertainer and artist has proved to be one of the most versatile in Australia. Tonight he shares his views on this years Archibald Prize finalists.

Dr. Michael Hill Senior Lecturer in Visual Communication, University of Technology Sydney
Dr. Michael Hill, labelled Doctor Comics on Radio National for his PhD research on comics, will speak of the work of another 'Doctor Comics', Osamu Tezuka, the trained physician who turned his back on medicine to devote his career to manga and anime. The emphasis of this talk will be on drawing. It will also include an analysis of Tezuka's graphic style, how he constructed character design and developed visual narratives

The Australian Army Band Saxophone Quartet
The Australian Army Band Sydney (AAB-S), the oldest professional music organisation in Australia - established in 1871. The Band has opened everything from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Opera House and can break down into nine contrasting ensembles ranging from an earthy folk band to a hard-hitting rock outfit.
